Hello, Welcome to Detroit Lakes and surrounding area on behalf of the
Lakes Area Welcome Service, our participating sponsors and area
businesses. We are pleased that you have chosen the lakes area as your
new home. As you know, Detroit Lakes is a fantastic town filled with lots
of charm, many activities, children’s programs and friendly people.
Moving into a new area, even if it is just a few miles away, can be daunting.
The Lakes Area Welcome Service is here to help you get acquainted with
the town and answer questions you may have. We will personally deliver
your welcome packet, which is filled with community information as well
as gifts and coupons from local businesses…and it is all complimentary!

The Lakes Area Welcome Service has been in business for 5 years. We are
sponsored by local businesses and community service organizations that
want you to feel welcome here and encourage you to become an active
participant in our community.
We serve surrounding communities such as Frazee, Vergas, Rochert,
Callaway, Audubon, Lake Park and Pelican Rapids.
New mothers and newly engaged couples are also welcome to contact us to
receive a free welcome bag.
Lakes Area Welcome Service’s mission is to introduce new residents to the
community, non-profits, community service organizations and area
businesses by providing what is most needed and welcomed when
establishing a new residence.
